As Vianova means “new path” or “new direction”, we find it only fitting to acknowledge individuals or companies that are changing how business is done in the small and midsize sectors, and blazing new trails in the realm of corporate social responsibility. Each week throughout the month of June, Vianova will be highlighting a person or business who has proven themselves as an innovator, or demonstrated exceptional leadership in their field.
This week’s Changemaker is Chris Jarvis. Chris (who could be Anthony Bourdain’s polite younger brother) is the Co-Founder and Senior Consultant for RealizedWorth, a leading employee volunteering and CSR consulting firm. Chris provides training and hands-on involvement in the design and implementation of outstanding and sustainable employee volunteer programs for businesses interested in leveraging their CSR programs and differentiating their corporate culture.
Over the past 20 years, Chris has worked alongside nonprofit organizations ranging from urban centers in North America to the slums of Kibera, Kenya to develop their volunteer programs. He brings those insights with him in his consultation with Fortune 500 companies.
After year’s of corresponding with Chris via email and Twitter, we finally had the chance to meet in person at this year’s Sustainable Brands Conference in San Diego, CA, where he was speaking on the topic of CSR and Your Employees: Building Engagement from Within. Chris’ passion for CSR was inspiring, and we are pleased to recognize him as Vianova’s very first Changemaker.
Have you worked with Chris? What was your experience? Do you have a nomination for a future Changemaker? Let us know in the comments below!
