Program Overview

Vianova is pleased to announce its Pro Bono Services Grant Program, designed to help deserving nonprofits magnify their impact.

We believe business should be a force for good. As a certified B Corp and 1% for the Planet member, our business model has been designed so that regardless of the work we do, there is a community benefit. The cornerstone of our giving back model is our pro bono work – giving away our services to a purposeful organization. By helping wonderful organizations increase their impact, we can do our part to make the world a better place.

About the 2022 Grant

Vianova will provide up to a full day of our professional facilitation services in 2022 to a deserving nonprofit whose mission is focused on the environment or has programs dedicated to addressing environmental issues or climate change. The meeting’s purpose can include any of the following; however, the meeting must be focused on the environment or climate change:

  • Annual goal planning (e.g., establish key priorities, strategies, and targets for 2023)
  • Ideation or brainstorming (e.g., generate ideas and solutions to a particular challenge or challenges)
  • Decision-making (e.g., explore options, build consensus, and arrive at a decision)
  • Problem-solving (e.g., gather input and perspectives and brainstorm solutions)
  • Focus Group (e.g., gather stakeholder perspectives, such as employees, volunteers, donors, etc.)

A hybrid or virtual meeting option may be considered. The meeting date is subject to the facilitator’s availability. The following dates are not available:

  • November 23- 26, 30
  • December 1, 2, 3, 22-24, 29-31.
Qualifying Criteria
  • This grant is available to 501(c)3 nonprofits located in San Diego County whose mission is focused on the environment or has programs dedicated to addressing environmental issues or climate change. 
  • Applicant organizations may not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or disability in hiring practices or the provision of services.
  • Religious, political organizations, or private foundations are not eligible.
Grantee’s Responsibilities

The grantee will be responsible for:

  • Participation in meeting planning call(s) with the facilitator
  • Providing the facilitator will all relevant background information and materials
  • All expenses associated with the meeting venue, AV, Wi-Fi, flip charts, and other materials.
  • Ensuring all meeting participants bring a laptop or tablet during the session.

Why are you doing this? Giving back to the community is built into our DNA as a company and as a Certified B Corp. We have been doing pro bono work since our founding in 2005.

What is your track record with clients? You can take a look at our client testimonials on our website. We’re very proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish for clients in the past.

How difficult is the application? We have tried to keep the application as simple and straightforward as possible so that we can determine which organization would benefit most from our facilitation services without wasting anyone’s time.

When is the application due? The final submission deadline for the 2022 grant is November 11, 2022.

How does the selection process work? After you submit your application, it’ll be reviewed by the Vianova team. We will follow up with up to three finalists by phone the week of November 14, 2022, to schedule some time to chat in person. We will announce the grant recipient no later than November 18, 2022. 

Our criteria for selecting the grant recipient include:

  • Which organization has a challenge that can be met with the services that we offer
  • Which organization will benefit the most from our services
  • Which organization will have the greatest positive impact on the community and environment as a result of our work
  • Which organization has demonstrated its commitment to the meeting facilitation process
